The Chateau (The Original Sinners #9) by Tiffany Reisz: Review

Blurb:

As the Jack-of-All-Wicked-Trades for a secretive French military intelligence agency, Lieutenant Kingsley Boissonneault has done it all--spied, lied, and killed under orders. But his latest assignment is quite out of the ordinary. His commanding officer's nephew has disappeared inside a sex cult, and Kingsley has been tasked with bringing him home to safety.

The cult's holy book is "Story of O," the infamous French novel of extreme sado-masochism. Their château is a looking-glass world where women reign and men are their willing slaves. Or are they willing? It's Kingsley's mission to find out.

Once inside the château, however, Kingsley quickly falls under the spell cast by the enigmatic Madame, a woman of wisdom, power, and beauty. She offers Kingsley the one thing he's always wanted. But the price? Giving up forever the only person he's ever loved.

Review by Michelle:

More Original Sinners?! Sign me up! Kingsley and a certain blonde sadist are back and the best part of The Chateau? It's a standalone! Perfect for fans of the series who will be enchanted and delighted by the story of Kingsley during his legionnaire days and the Madame that deeply impacted and influenced the man that we know and love today, but also a great place to jump in if you haven't yet met the Sinners, want to take King for a spin, or are looking for an intriguing, intensely sexy, deliciously decadent story.

I could eat, sleep, and breathe the Original Sinners world, but if I can't live there, I would love nothing more than to visit over and over and over again. This book is a real dream come true. A return to intrigue and mystery, a return to erotica and kink, a return to the unspoken and the forbidden, but above all else, it is a return to true passion, brutally tangible longing, and the kind of love and devotion one could only hope to be so lucky as to feel for just one fleeting second of their life.

With the mere mention of the Madame in previous Sinners' stories I have been ravenous to know more about this woman. A woman who tamed the seemingly untamable, a woman who topped the King, a woman with an arsenal and the ability to bring Kingsley to his knees. The perfect addition to the series, Kingsley's past and Madame's compound rounds out everything we've wondered about our beloved Sinners and all that we've imagined could have, or would have, taken place back in France to make Madame such an important part of Kingsley's life.

This story gives you warm and tingly feelings of all kinds. From the warm and fuzzies you get when returning to a story that feels like home and characters that feel like old, treasured friends, to the warming up you get from all of Kingsley's numerous and markedly steamy escapades, to the beautiful and ideal ending.

This story wraps itself around you, envelopes you, and takes over you. Kingsley is a character that you can never know enough about and one you will never truly know every facet of. Fascinating, spellbinding, and overwhelming, The Chateau is yet another masterpiece to be added to the long line of its impeccably written, thoroughly engrossing, incomparable predecessors. Tiffany Reisz and her beautiful Sinners can do no wrong. Please keep them coming. If this is a dream, I don't ever want to wake up!
