The Dead Heat Ranch Series by Nicole Edwards Blog Tour Promo & Giveaway

Boots Optional (Dead Heat Ranch #0.5)

Blurb:

Note: This novella was previously published in the Some Like It Hot Anthology. Although the story has not changed, this version contains a short bonus scene.

New York Times bestselling author Nicole Edwards is heating things up with Boots Optional, a sexy new ménage novella which is the first book in a hot new series called Dead Heat Ranch.

Grace Lambert is familiar with hard work, long days, and handsome cowboys. She’s been working for her family’s dude ranch since she was old enough to ride a horse and she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty. What she is afraid of is the heat that’s been generating between her and not one, but two sexy cowboys who’ve set their sights on her. And each other.

Grant Kingsley and Lane Miller have both had their eyes on Gracie for years, but the feisty cowgirl has managed to keep them at bay. As far as they are concerned, cowboys don’t give up, and neither of them is ready to give up just yet. Not on her and not on the heat that transpires between the two of them.

Find out what happens when the sultry Texas nights get as hot as the fierce Texas days.

Betting on Grace (Dead Heat Ranch #1)

Blurb:

New York Times bestselling author Nicole Edwards is continuing to heat things up with Betting on Grace, a sexy new ménage novel which is the first book in a hot new series called Dead Heat Ranch.

The tables have turned on Grace Lambert. For a woman familiar with long days and hard work, she just recently discovered just how hot the sultry Texas nights can get. Finding time to spend with her two smoking hot cowboys, Grant and Lane, isn’t exactly easy, but she’s forging ahead with what has turned out to be the hottest relationship she has ever been in. The true test comes in standing up for what she wants.

Grant Kingsley has landed his feisty cowgirl, Gracie, and an equally sexy cowboy, Lane Miller, but everything outside of his romantic life has gone from routine to chaos in a matter of days. Unfortunately, he’s become rather acquainted with Murphy’s Law as he is inundated with a string of bad luck. His mother is missing, his father, a gambling addict, is worried about only one thing these days, and when Grant refuses to give in, all hell breaks loose on the ranch.

Lane Miller will be the first to admit that he falls in love easily. And he’s done so again, with both Gracie and Grant. Only this time around, he’s not giving up or giving in. Cowboys don’t know what it means to back down and Lane will ensure that the two most important people in his life get all of him, no matter what it takes.

Don't forget to read Boots Optional, the prequel to Betting on Grace, before you dive in!

Author Bio:

Nicole lives in Texas with her husband, Colt, three kids and four dogs. It's quite the household and most of the time you'll find her locked away in her office... writing. When she's not, you'll likely find her reading, swimming, or hanging out in the yard with the dogs, doing her best to keep them in line. (And no, it doesn't usually work)

Ever want to let that other part of you loose? The part that has secret desires and taboo fantasies? Well, that's what brought about Nicole Edwards. She's an alter ego. In truth, she's a full-fledged part of me. The secret part made up of sinfully hot desires and erotic thoughts. Get to know how Nicole's naughty mind works by checking out her books!

About me... hmmm...

Ok, I've been asked to provide a little bit of "real" information about myself. That's harder to do than you think it is, especially for someone who has difficulty talking about themselves. ;) But, here goes...

I've been writing for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a kid, I loved creative writing and as I got older, I got acquainted with those voices in my head and that led to putting my stories on paper. And now, here I am all these years later, spending my days doing what I love most. I decided to give myself over to writing full time in 2012 and I haven't looked back. I spent nearly 13 years in the corporate world and I have to say, this is a bit of a change (just a little) and I am loving every second of it.

I live in Texas with my husband and three amazing kids and our four beloved dogs. If I'm not writing, I'm usually reading. I devour everything I can get my hands on. I love romance of any type and being an Indie author myself, I'm always looking for new Indies to support. I haven't always been into reading, but about eleven years ago, I picked up a book - I'm pretty sure it was by Nora Roberts - and from there, I haven't stopped. Before I began writing full time, and my characters started taking up so much of my time, I was reading about 200 books a year. That has dwindled somewhat, but there isn't a day that goes by that I don't read.

An interesting fact... I don't watch television - aside from the occasional news anyway. I will go see a movie or two rarely, but for the most part, I get all of my entertainment from a book. Some of my favorite authors include J.R. Ward, Suzanne Brockmann, Lora Leigh, Jane Rylon, Lori Foster, and Jaci Burton just to name a few.

Excerpt:

“Lena, you seen my old black Led Zep shirt?”

“Nope.”

“You sure?” His brows became one dark cranky line. The scratches on his face were healing well, thank goodness. Though it didn’t reduce my desire to throttle his mother on a daily basis.

“Yes. I haven’t seen it.”

Can’t find it anywhere…”

“And this is a surprise, how?” I slipped my hands into my back jean’s pockets. “Jimmy, you own more clothing than Cher, Brittney, and Elvis, put together. Things are bound to go missing.”

“Sure you haven’t seen it?”

“For goodness sake, what do you think, Jimmy? That I stole it to sleep in or something?” I laughed bitterly. Sure as hell, the truth deserved a good mocking. I’d sunk so despicably low.

I hadn’t even meant to steal the stupid thing, but the shirt had been mixed up with my laundry a few days ago. It’d been the first top I laid my hand on after stepping out of the shower, ready to go to bed. Without thought, I’d put it on and it’d been so soft, the scent of him lingering beneath the laundry detergent. Every night since, I’d found myself in it come bedtime. My shame knew no limits. And no, I still hadn’t quit. The words still hadn’t come even close to leaving my mouth.

He frowned. “No.”

“That I have some deep secret longing to feel close to you resulting in my stealing your shirt like some creepy perv?”

“Course I don’t fucking think that,” he replied crankily, reaching up to grip the top of the doorframe. All of his bulging muscles stretched the arms of his white T-shirt in the nicest way. It was all I could do not to start drooling, my heart beat taking up residence somewhere down between my thighs. And who could blame it? Not me. Maybe if I got laid, this would go away and things would return to normal. It’d seemed safer to avoid rubbing up against any men just in case I got carried away and started dating again. This new situation, however, changed everything.

“Well, of course not! That would be crazy.” And wasn’t that the god’s honest truth? Cray-zeee. Lock me up and throw away the key because it wasn’t like I didn’t know better.

“Just can’t figure out where the hell it could be.”

Angels couldn’t have smiled as innocently. They might have tried, but they would have failed, the dirty-mouthed, winged, little liars. “Jimmy, I don’t know where it is. But I’ll look around for it later, okay?”

“Yeah,” he said, and then added as an afterthought, “and stop looking at me weird.”

“I’m not!”

Review by Michelle:

With every new Kylie Scott book that I read my unequivocal love for her continues to grow and grow. As with the previous books in the Stage Dive series, from the moment you pick Lead up it is impossible to pry it from your fingers until the very end. Lead is a whole different animal compared to the first two books though. Completely different in its very nature, it is a heartrending, emotional, and highly impactful story. I have so much admiration for Kylie Scott's versatility within this series yet we are still given plenty of instances in which we are reminded of all the reasons why we fell so hard for the previous books and made to feel right at home with our favorite characters.

At first I thought David was the be all end all but then Mal so easily won me over with his charisma and sense of humor. But now Jimmy, JIMMY, of all the stage dive boys has completely stolen my heart. Jimmy a man of such few words, who is so closed off, so angry, brooding, and sullen that he is honestly pretty hard to love. Leave it to Kylie Scott to give us such a grudgingly endearing character. Although it almost never comes out pretty or poetic, his terse hardness only makes his tender, sweet moments that much sweeter.

Turns out Jimmy was even more deserving of my love and affection than I had ever imagined especially when we get the tiniest peek into his vulnerable side and see just how beaten down by life he has become and the magnitude of his struggle under the oppressive weight of addiction. Jimmy's plight grabs you by the heart and squeezes until it is actually painful to continue reading. But you do continue. You push through. You soldier on because almost immediately Jimmy becomes extremely important to you, you become so invested in him and his well-being and you are so totally engrossed in the depths of his despair that you cannot possibly walk away, can't leave him behind, can't stand to see him suffer another minute.

Kylie Scott never fails to deliver completely captivating characters. Characters that you instantly connect with and that touch your heart. Characters with the ability to make you both laugh and cry, sometimes at the very same time. Lena takes the cake, or should I say pie. This girl came rushing out of the gate with tons of spunk, plenty of attitude, and a smart mouth that can keep up with the best of them, namely Jimmy and of course Mal. Lena is smart and tough with an amazingly thick skin and most importantly she doesn't take a single thing that Jimmy dishes out, she calls him on his bull, and she cares more for this tortured soul than anyone ever has. She helps him along his arduous path to conquer his dependency and in the end inspires some truly monumental growth.

Reluctant, unwilling, begrudging love is by far the best kind of love there is. This love is anything but easy and that is exactly what makes it so remarkable and especially meaningful. The chemistry between these two was electric, the tension palpable. It was easy to see that if these stubborn characters would finally just relent they could really have something incredible, but Jimmy and Lena don't make it particularly easy on anyone they come in contact with and so we are left hanging until the very end.

Did I really tear up within the first 10% of this story already feeling Jimmy's pain so profoundly? Yep, sure did. In virtually no time at all I was so bonded with Jimmy and Lena and so affected by both character's emotional turmoil that I found myself with tears in my eyes on more than one occasion thereafter, but one of the best things about a Kylie Scott novel is the humor. These books are always so smart, so entertaining, and so funny. No matter how deep or heavy the issue there is always adequate respite with playful teasing and witty banter and when all else fails Mal is thrown into the equation and hilarity is sure to ensue.

There is not a single word contained within the pages of Lead that I did not relish and adore. I loved absolutely everything about this book and am in awe of Kylie Scott's incredible talent. I simply cannot get enough of the Stage Dive boys and I know I will be in Deep once I get my hands on Ben's story.
