Who better to ask for honest, snarky relationship advice than Vishous?
Ask At Your Own Risk.

Dear Vishous, Agony Aunt Column
(with help from Mary)

Dear Vishous,

First of all, thank you for doing this.  I need another perspective.  I am a 27 year old woman, about fifteen months out of a five year relationship.  I started dating a guy about two months ago.  I’ll call him “Evan.”  We met on Match.com.  We both workout.  We like a good time out at the clubs and the bars.  We’re both Sox fans.  He’s funny and he’s been good about keeping in touch when he travels frequently for work.

My problem is this.  He told me he was twenty-eight.  A week or so ago, when we were playing pool at our local, he told me to snag his wallet and pay for the next round at the bar.  While I was getting money out, I saw his driver’s license.  It said he’s thirty-six and the address listed was in a different area of the city than he told me he lives in. I got the drinks and put his wallet back in his pocket, and tried not to think about it.

But I can’t shake the idea he lied, and it’s causing me to obsess about things that are probably no big deal.  Like, he only comes to stay at my place.  I’ve never been to his apartment, and when I asked about this, he said he has two roommates who get on his nerves and he prefers the break he gets when he sleeps at my apartment.  And I’ve introduced him to my friends, but he’s never offered to do the same.  At first, I was psyched because my ex never wanted to hang with my people.  But now?  I guess I’m uneasy and looking for shadows everywhere.

I don’t care how old he is, and I know that some times folks on Match fudge their age to make them more attractive.  And maybe it’s just an old license.  I don’t want to ruin a good thing by looking like I’m second guessing him about stuff that only appears iffy and for which there is a reasonable explanation.

Please advise,

On The Fence In Beantown

#################

Vishous:  Here’s what you need to do.  Go to your local Stahp ‘n Shahp and get some Sweet Baby Ray’s  BBQ.  Then get a good knife.  After you slice his b*lls off, marinate them and then pan fry ‘em.  Serve them to him hot and spicy and-

Mary:  Okaaaaaaay.  Let’s just all take a deep breath here.

V:  I know, because the BBQ sauce smells great, right?

Mary:  Ah, no.  It’s because we should not settle this type of conflict through bodily harm.

V:  Whatever, that lying sack of sh*t with the fake Match profile doesn’t deserve a set of nuts.  S’all I’m sayin’.

Mary:  I think we’ve heard your point of view loud and clear.  And now, I’d like to offer a more nuanced opinion.  On The Fence, it’s clear that there are some reasons to be concerned about this guy.  One of the things that I tell people in my practice is to always trust your instincts.  As much as you want to believe the best-

V:  Fine.  No BBQ sauce, then.  Just slice, dice and toss ‘em in the pan.  He doesn’t deserve Sweet Baby Ray’s.

Mary:  ................

V:  What.  Oh, come on, don’t look at me like that.

Mary:  I’ve never actually said this before to someone, but why don’t you light up a cigarette and take a few deep drags.

V:  I thought you’d never ask.

Mary:  Anyway, On The Fence, my suggestion is that you have a frank, face-to-face conversation with “Evan.”  Share your concerns calmly and succinctly.  See what his answers are.  Based on how he responds, you should be able to tell a lot.  Is he listening to you and taking you seriously?  Is he offering to have you stay over at his place?  Or is he defensive and turning everything back on you-

V:  And his Red Sox card is revoked.  He has to root for the Yankees now.

Mary:  -in a way that makes you uncomfortable?  At the end of the day, you deserve to be in a relationship with someone who’s as honest as you are and treats you the way you’re treating them.

V:  I have to agree with Mary on this one.  Even though you’re a human, being with a lying sack of sh*t is whack.

Mary:  Remember, your physical safety comes first, and fast on its heels is your emotional health.  Please do not sacrifice your happiness just because you are hoping that “Evan” is the one-

V:  I think you’re going to find out he’s got a wife and kids and he’s playing you.  Which brings us back to my solution to the problem-

Mary: -and let us know how it goes, please.  Best of luck!

V:  F**k him!  Go get a real man- and that skillet.

The Feel Good Factor by Lauren Blakely: Release Blitz Review, Excerpt & Giveaway

Blurb:

I have a fantastic family, great best friends, a job I love…and now I’m up for a promotion to police sergeant. I need total focus—not a flirty, dirty, irresistible, tattooed hottie riding into my town on his motorcycle. Can I arrest him for being too good-looking? When he kisses me senseless in the back of a waffle truck, it’s criminal, the things he makes me think about hot syrup and melted butter. One order of hot, fluffy hookup to go, please.

But the next time I see him, it’s not for our date with benefits. He’s the guy who just rented the room above my garage.

I need the rent to pay my bills, not a man like Derek, who I soon discover to be strong, caring, generous, good with kids, and kind to puppies… If I’m not careful, he’ll be moving into my heart as well as my house.

***

A no-strings-attached fling with the fiery redhead who revs my engine? Why, yes, that does sound like a delicious perk of my new job in this new town, thank you very much. I’m coming off a bad relationship, and I have zero interest in anything serious. I’ve got all the serious I need helping my sister take care of her three little kids while her husband is deployed.

Except, surprise! Perri isn’t just my future fling. Turns out she’s my sexy, sassy landlord.

A lease definitely counts as “strings attached,” and as much as I’d like to get tangled in her sheets, I can’t let myself get tangled up in a relationship.

But as soon as we put the cuffs on our escapades, I learn over late-night conversations in the kitchen, that my landlord is so much more than the sexiest woman I’ve ever met– she has a quick mind and the biggest heart.

Once I’m in, I’m all in. And to convince her that we should see where this goes, I plan on turning up the heat—and not just in the kitchen.

~DEREK~

Today is my lucky day.

I’d like to thank my sister for getting my ass out of bed.

I’d like to thank my niece for telling me the nice lady with the paints had just made her way down the veggie aisle.

And I’d like to thank fate that this avocado stand is in an out-of-the-way corner of the market, and that the farmer running it must have had to take one hell of a leak.

It’s just us.

This woman is fiery, flirty, and already driving me out of my mind. The stream of market-goers has thinned to a crawl as we near closing time, and left us in a cocoon of raw lust.

I place the fruit on the red-and-white-checkered tablecloth, brush my fingers over her hip, and tug her against me. She lets out the sexiest little sound. “Tell me your name. I’m dying to know.”

“Why do you need it so badly?”

“So I know what name to say when I’m fantasizing.”

A murmur crosses her lips, and she leans her head back against me, her hair spilling down my chest. “Are you fantasizing about me?”

“Every. Single. Night.”

“You must be having a log of long nights, Mr. Trouble.”

“Long, hard nights…Miss Demeanor,” I say with a smirk, trying that nickname on for size.

“Well played.”

“Thank you. It just came to me.”

She glances back at me, her green eyes looking rife with dirty thoughts. “Do you want to come down to the station with me?”

“I want your name, beautiful. Give me your name,” I growl into her ear, commanding her.

“Perri,” she says breathlessly, her voice betraying her longing. A longing that matches mine.

“Perri,” I repeat, tasting her name on my tongue.

Her voice tightens to a warning and sharpens as she speaks. “Don’t say it.”

I narrow my brow in question. “Say what?”

“Don’t say it’s a guy’s name.”

I laugh lightly in her ear, jerking her ass closer to my hard-on. “Do you honestly believe I’m thinking for one second about guys right now?”

She lets out a gasp, chased by a soft moan. “I don’t know. What exactly are you thinking about?”

I drag my scruff against her neck. “How close I am to getting a ticket for indecent everything.”

She wriggles her sexy rear against me. “I’d say everything feel way more than decent.”

I groan as a dart of lust shoots down my spine. I’d like to find a way to kiss the breath out of her right here, right now.

She tenses against me, her body straightening like a ruler, and my gaze flicks to the new crowd of people streaming around the corner, heading toward us.

Fuck me.

Yvette's Review:

Do you know what I love about Lauren Blakely’s books? Even though they’re standalones, they’re typically connected to each other in some way. When minor characters are important to the hero or heroine, you know they’re more than likely to appear in their own story...or at least you (i.e. me) hope they will. That’s why, when I read Best Laid Plans and came to know Arden’s two best friends, I was eager to see who one or both would be paired up with. Thankfully, Lauren Blakely didn’t prolong the suspense, introducing not just two new heroines but two new heroes as well! And when a certain cop pulled over a speeding motorcyclist? Sparks flew, my smile stretched across my face, and my mind whirled with the potential romance.

When I started The Feel Good Factor, it took approximately 0.5 seconds before I fell in love with Derek McBride. He’s tatted up, rides a motorcycle, and is a wicked flirt to boot. Need I say more? He looks the part of the quintessential bad boy, which is what captures the attention of sassy, quick-witted police officer, Perri Keating. From their very first meeting, you could feel their attraction to each other emanating from the pages. The sexual tension between them is a palpable force, and their chemistry is almost indecent to the point where it feels like, at any moment, they’re in danger of ripping each other’s clothes off. Which makes things pretty interesting when Perri finds out Derek is her new roommate. *rubs hands together* Despite their mutual decision to keep their relationship PG-13 (there is, after all, a kissing contest to practice for), they tease and taunt each other relentlessly, each pushing the other’s restraint past the breaking point.

Having read all of Lauren Blakely’s books, I can confidently say that The Feel Good Factor is the author’s sexiest, most passionate, most unapologetically sensual romance to date. Not only is the heat level off the charts thanks to Derek and Perri’s raw, primal physical connection, but the combination of uncontrollable lust and unrestrained need between them makes every kiss an unforgettable, shamelessly erotic experience. And that’s just their kisses… Throw in some expert-level dirty talk from Derek, and I don’t think I’ve ever blushed so hard or had my jaw drop with such regularity while reading a Lauren Blakely book!

With a fun, lighthearted storyline packed with flirty, clever banter, characters that are charming and multidimensional with magnetic personalities, and a romance that’s the perfect combination of heart-meltingly sweet and scorching hot, The Feel Good Factor is my new favorite book by Lauren Blakely. This is a must-read, beautifully wrapping up Derek and Perri’s story, while enticing readers with Shaw and Vanessa’s forbidden flirtation. I can’t wait to get my hands on Nobody Does It Better, and luckily we don’t have long to wait.

Seattle heiress Mackenzie Dupont is treating herself to a single-girl honeymoon in Mexico and a desire to relinquish her innocence to a gorgeous one-night stand. Fake names. True pleasure. Guest Post:

Why Sports Heroes Make the Best Book Boyfriends by Rachel Van Dyken

Hey everyone! I’m Rachel Van Dyken, author of over eighty (holy crap) books in multiple genres, one of my favorites being, sports romance! My latest book, Risky Play, is about two broken main characters who find themselves on a last minute holiday to Puerto Vallarta.

Pro Soccer player Slade Rodriguez is trying to lay low after finding out his girlfriend and his ex teammate hooked up behind his back, for over a year. Licking his wounds he changes teams and moves to Seattle, but isn’t ready to settle down yet. Needing time to himself, he gets on the first jet out. He sits next to Mackenzie Dupont on a plane and is immediately intrigued, especially since a few hours into the plane ride, they have single engine failure. She asks him what one thing he would do different. And they kiss. Once the plane safely lands, to protect his own identity, he gives her a fake name, Hugo. What he doesn’t realize is she’s famous in her own right, so she does the same thing. After all, she’s running away from a broken engagement. What follows is a whole lot of steaminess and taking chances with a complete stranger assuming that it’s just that, a one night stand, a two night stand. Whatever it is, Mackenzie's obsessed with "Hugo's" intense golden gaze, the eight pack helps, and the fact that he seems genuinely interested in everything she says. He promises the universe he’s going to keep her, but sometimes the universe is against us. Tragedy strikes and they go their separate ways only to meet again in Seattle, this time, sparks fly and not the good kind The "I want to kiss you, then strangle you, then kiss you again" kind.

I love writing sports romances because I think it adds this extra layer of pressure from the press to act a certain way. Not only does Slade have to deal with paparazzi but he has pressure to perform, to lead his team to the championships after training with another team. I think it brings in so many details from behind the scenes that we never think about when watching sports on TV. I’m fully dedicated to interviewing real athletes (and my last sports romance I interviewed NFL players). This time I wanted to focus on a sport that isn’t as huge here as it is internationally and really do it justice. These athletes eat, sleep, and breathe their sport, there isn’t a lot of time for a personal life and if you do have one, the balance is always going to be a struggle (not to mention the fact that Slade is still mourning). In this book, I wanted to introduce a really strong female character that wouldn’t let Slade project all those feelings and basically Mackenzie is the type of girl that doesn’t put up with his crap. I think it's important to have strong female characters that women can look up to. I love that during the entire journey my heroine doesn’t give up. She knows her worth and demands that Slade recognize it too.

All in all it was such a fun book to write, I can’t wait for everyone to read it!

Excerpt:

I was kissing her again.
Maybe it was because it had been months since I’d had a decent kiss, since I’d jumped into the arms of anyone who didn’t know me by name.
I could be Hugo for a few days.
Hugo seemed spontaneous.
Hugo seemed relaxed.
Hugo seemed fun.
I sure as hell needed some fun.
I broke away from her kiss and trailed my fingertips down her chin. “So, now that we’ve established the plane didn’t crash and we’re here side by side, what did you have in mind?”
Ashley grinned up at me, her eyes a bit hesitant as she looked from me to the ocean. “Well, I’ve never gone cliff diving, I heard there’s a great place close by.”
My eyebrows shot up. “No offense, but you don’t seem like a thrill seeker.”
She laughed. I decided I liked the way her laugh relaxed me, made me respond with a smile and a need to kiss her again. “I’m not, trust me.” She sobered a bit. Her lips turned down.
I wanted nothing more than to press a soft kiss to the corner of her mouth just to see if it would it make it decide to smile in my direction again.
“But it would be fun, I need fun.”
I sighed heavily and looked at my feet. When the hell had I ever looked away like that? “That makes both of us.”
“Great!” She walked ahead of me into her penthouse suite, which matched mine even in color. I suddenly wondered what she did for a living. I mean I could afford it because I had been the highest paid soccer star in Europe for the last ten years.
The place was around three grand a day.
I eyed the large master suite as she ran around and then held up her hand. “One sec, I’m going to change into a suit, alright?”
“Great.” I smiled reassuringly. It would give me time to look around, not that I was stalking her, but I could never be too careful. I was still surprised she didn’t recognize me. And I knew when she did, this little facade, this freedom I felt in my chest, the easy way she let me breathe around her? It would go to hell, and I’d need another escape.
I thumbed through a few of the magazines on the table, and dropped the last one down just in time to hear the sliding bathroom door open and see a goddess emerge.
A one-piece swimsuit covered her body. It had a plunging neckline that showed off two generously sized breasts, and I immediately regretted not telling her who I was.
Because clothing tended to get pulled off, not put on, when I was in the room.
I eyed the strap of material she called a swimsuit, my eyes raking over her muscular legs, her curvy body.
“Unless you’re jumping naked, you should change too,” she pointed out, then cleared her throat and looked away like she was insecure. Damn, the woman could make a man cut his own heart out for a taste of her special brand of sin.
I peeled my shirt off over my body and shrugged. “Ready.”
Her eyes went so wide I had to fight not to laugh.
I knew what she saw.
I had Instagram pages dedicated to my eyes alone, don’t even get me started on my abs.
Eight.
Tight, packed abs, all tanned and golden like I was the sun god himself.
“Uh, right.” Her cheeks brightened as she clasped her hands together. “Let’s go!”
I checked her out the entire time she walked ahead of me, and when she caught me staring I just shrugged and said, “Next time wear more clothes if you don’t want me to look.”
“You should talk,” she fired back.
“Misunderstanding.” I grinned. “I wanted you to look.”
She slapped a hand against my bare chest.
I laughed, and then grabbed her hand and kissed her fingertips. “You ready to jump off a cliff with a stranger you’ve kissed twice?”
“Once,” she corrected with a whisper. “I kissed you, you kissed me, we’re even.”

The doors to the elevator opened as I whispered under my breath. “Not for long.”

Space (Laws of Physics #2) by Penny Reid: Blog Tour Review

Blurb:

One week.
Private cabin.
Famous physicist.
Still an unrepentant slacker.
What’s the worst that could happen?

Mona’s meticulously planned allotment of relaxation is thrown into chaos by the unscheduled appearance of her older brother’s band of friends, including the one person she'd hoped to never face again. Abram still makes her feel entirely too much, which is one of the reasons she disappeared after their one week together. But now, trapped on a mountain of snow and things unspoken, Mona will have to find a way to coexist with Abram, chaos and all.

Yvette's Review:

After the cliffhanger at the end of Motion by Penny Reid, I was dying to see what would happen next with Mona and Abram’s story! With Mona’s twin sister coming home, what did that mean for Mona’s budding romance??? Would Mona’s secret be revealed? I needed answers! I knew Space, the follow-up to Motion, would provide some clarity but, with another cliffhanger looming, I was both excited and anxious to see what else Penny Reid had in store for these characters.

There’s not much I can say about Space without giving everything away. In short, Mona and Abram come face to face for the first time after their unforgettable week together when Mona posed as her twin sister, Lisa. The truth is out, there are unresolved feelings between Mona and Abram, and they have one week to resolve any lingering issues. To say that Space is an emotional roller coaster would be an understatement especially because, unlike Motion, Space is alternates between Mona and Abram’s perspectives. We get double the gut-wrenching angst, double the emotional baggage, and an abundance of conflicting thoughts and feelings.

Going into Space, I don’t know quite what I expected but I wasn’t entirely prepared for the pain and anguish coming from Abram. Gone was the poetic, romantic aspiring musician and in his place was a bitter, hurt man who did little to hide the anger roiling around inside of him. Similarly, Mona wasn’t the mild-mannered, apathetic person who kept everything bottled up, but instead lets her confusion and longing seep in to every word she utters. The combination of Abram and Mona’s emotional turbulence evoked a visceral reaction in me, making me a nervous wreck from start to finish. My brows furrowed, my stomach churned, and my throat clogged up.

Have I mentioned I don’t do well with angst? And Space damn near ripped my heart out. These characters frustrated me. They made me scowl and cringe and seethe. They made me laugh and smile. They moved me. They gave me hope. They drove me crazy and kept me on the proverbial edge of my seat. Space is one of those books that you stay up reading until the early hours of the morning because it’s impossible to stop. I devoured every word, riveted to the story, needing to see what happened next. Once I was finished, I was even more impatient for the conclusion to Mona and Abram’s story and I know I’ll be counting down the days until the release of Time.

Excerpt:

“Hi—hello,” she said, stepping forward but not out of the way, drawing my attention.

She was still staring at me, her face still pale, but her eyes had turned searching instead of stunned.

“I—” She stopped herself, swallowing, her gaze dropping to the front of my coat, a cute little frown furrowing her eyebrows. In the next moment, she was pulling off the glove of her right hand. Abruptly, she shoved the ungloved fingers toward me, returning her eyes to mine. “I’m Mona.”

I suppressed my disbelief at her small action before it could break my outward mask of calm. I wasn’t calm. Just to be clear, I was the opposite of calm.

The fact that she was introducing herself to me now meant that she thought I was too stupid to figure out her lies over the last two-and-a-half-fucking years. She was arguably one of the smartest people in the world, after all. To her, people like me must seem like housebroken pets. So it shouldn’t have surprised me. But it did. The tension and tightness around my ribs reappeared, squeezing uncomfortably.

Dropping my attention to her bare hand, I pressed my lips into a tighter line, dismissing the way my pulse jumped at the sight of her wrist, the olive tone of her skin under the yellow string lights overhead. Glaring at her outstretched offering, I considered telling her to go to hell.

I considered it, but I wouldn’t.

I didn’t trust myself to speak, that was reason number one.

The other reason was harder to explain, or use as a justification, or admit to myself. Staring at her hand, I braced against a sudden flare of hunger. She might consider me a lower life-form, but that didn’t change the fact that I wanted to touch her. I wanted to touch her more than I wanted to tell her to go to hell, and that was fucking pitiful.

But there it was.

Acting on the compulsion, I lifted my right hand and tugged off the ski glove, sliding my warm palm against her much colder one. Her hand felt good in my hand, the right weight, the right size, the right texture, and I inhaled freezing air.

Mona also seemed to suck in a slow but expansive breath as our hands touched, held. This brought my eyes back to hers in time to see her lashes flutter. Pink colored her previously pale cheeks. The sound of the wailing wind, the sting of the air and frost momentarily melted away, leaving just her, her soft skin warming against mine, her beautiful face filling my vision.

So beautiful.

She really was. She was stunning. I hated that she was still so beautiful to me.

Thank you for your interest in my books! I'm Tessa and I live in the crazy, loud, overcrowded borough of Brooklyn, New York. I love it here. This city is a constant source of inspiration, which is why I've decided to set my most recent books in the Line of Duty Series here.

I moved to New York when I was eighteen, the day after I graduated high school. Threw my suitcase in the back of a Chevrolet Cavalier and drove across the country to find my adventure. I'm still finding it, little by little.

Thank you for being a part of it.

Yvette's Review:

From the moment Jamie and Marcus were introduced in Mouth to Mouth, the first book in Tessa Bailey’s Beach Kingdom Series, I had a sneaking suspicion they’d be paired together. And it wasn’t just my deep-seated desire to see one of my favorite authors write another M/M romance. Marcus’s loudmouth persona was such an unexpected, entertaining contrast to Jamie’s quieter, bookish manner that I knew we’d be seeing more of these two. I was excited to get their story with Heat Stroke and couldn’t wait to see what was in store for this unlikely duo.

Jamie Prince and Marcus O’Shaughnessy have spent their summers lifeguarding during the day and working nights at the bar Jamie co-owns with his two brothers. In that time, Marcus has become Jamie’s loud-mouthed, ever-present shadow, steadfastly following him around and eagerly soaking up his attention. He might not be able to give a name to his attraction to Jamie but Jamie is all too familiar with the confusion Marcus is struggling with over his sexuality, and is determined not to encourage him. Despite his efforts to resist, Jamie is reluctantly charmed by Marcus’s brash, larger-than-life persona, and, slowly but surely, the combination of Marcus’s persistence, his good-natured humor, and his raw, unfettered desire for Jamie wears down his reservations.

On paper, Marcus and Jamie are about as different as two characters can be. Jamie is intelligent, understated, and easygoing, while Marcus has, as Jamie puts it, an “uncomplicated point of view,” and demands the full attention of everyone around him. Despite their different personalities, they share an unlikely friendship and an indefinable attraction which creates an overwhelmingly intense, all-consuming physical and emotional connection. Their relationship is tentative and exploratory, but also passionate and unrestrained – a dichotomy that’s both adorably sweet and indescribably erotic.

With a storyline that’s emotionally compelling, complex, and riveting, characters that’ll tug on your heartstrings, and a romance that’s provocative and boundary-pushing, Heat Stroke is another must-read from Tessa Bailey. Marcus and Jamie’s love story is pure smutty, but heartfelt goodness from start to finish and I loved every minute of their journey.

Hold On (Play On #2.5) by Samantha Young: ARC Review

Blurb:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Samantha Young…

Autumn O’Dea has always tried to see the best in people while her big brother, Killian, has always tried to protect her from the worst. While their lonely upbringing made Killian a cynic, it isn’t in Autumn’s nature to be anything but warm and open. However, after a series of relationship disasters and the unsettling realization that she’s drifting aimlessly through life, Autumn wonders if she’s left herself too vulnerable to the world. Deciding some distance from the security blanket of her brother and an unmotivated life in Glasgow is exactly what she needs to find herself, Autumn takes up her friend’s offer to stay at a ski resort in the snowy hills of Montana. Some guy-free alone time on Whitetail Mountain sounds just the thing to get to know herself better.

However, she wasn’t counting on colliding into sexy Grayson King on the slopes. Autumn has never met anyone like Gray. Confident, smart, with a wicked sense of humor, he makes the men she dated seem like boys. Her attraction to him immediately puts her on the defense because being open-hearted in the past has only gotten it broken. Yet it becomes increasingly difficult to resist a man who is not only determined to seduce her, but adamant about helping her find her purpose in life and embrace the person she is. Autumn knows she shouldn’t fall for Gray. It can only end badly. After all their lives are divided by an ocean and their inevitable separation is just another heart break away…

Yvette's Review:

After reading Play On by Samantha Young, I was thrilled to learn that Autumn O’Dea would be getting her own story. The fact that it would be a crossover with Kristen Proby’s Big Sky Series and the hero would be Grayson King? *Insert fangirling here* These are two of my all-time favorite authors so getting a Samantha Young book set in a world I already know and love, featuring characters created by Kristen Proby, is definitely cause for excitement. I previously thought that Kristen Proby would be the one to give readers Gray’s story, though I must say that he was in good hands with Samantha Young in Hold On.

Having fled to Montana on a journey of self-discovery, Autumn doesn’t expect to literally crash into a stranger who would make her question her self-imposed hiatus from men. But, as any Big Sky Series fan knows, the King men are a potent, irresistible force to be reckoned with, especially when they’ve set their sights on who and what they want. Confused, wary, and intent on protecting herself from additional heartbreak, Autumn resists the incorrigibly flirtatious, smooth-talking charmer, but Gray wears her down with an easygoing confidence and a single-minded determination. With Gray and Autumn’s instant connection and palpable chemistry, it’s not long before their fun, flirty banter turns into an all-consuming, whirlwind romance that’s steamy, swoon-worthy, and packed with sexual tension.

With a lighthearted, playful storyline and a dreamy romance that had me grinning from ear to ear and blushing like a schoolgirl, Hold On is my new favorite Samantha Young book. As always with any great book, it felt too short…and not just because it was a novella. I could’ve easily read double the page length and it still wouldn’t have been enough. If you’re a Samantha Young fan, if you love the Big Sky Series, and/or if you’re in the mood for a hopelessly romantic, heartfelt love story, you NEED to add Hold On to your TBR list.
