About me... hmmm...

Ok, I've been asked to provide a little bit of "real" information about myself. That's harder to do than you think it is, especially for someone who has difficulty talking about themselves. ;) But, here goes...

I've been writing for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a kid, I loved creative writing and as I got older, I got acquainted with those voices in my head and that led to putting my stories on paper. And now, here I am all these years later, spending my days doing what I love most. I decided to give myself over to writing full time in 2012 and I haven't looked back. I spent nearly 13 years in the corporate world and I have to say, this is a bit of a change (just a little) and I am loving every second of it.

I live in Texas with my husband and three amazing kids and our four beloved dogs. If I'm not writing, I'm usually reading. I devour everything I can get my hands on. I love romance of any type and being an Indie author myself, I'm always looking for new Indies to support. I haven't always been into reading, but about eleven years ago, I picked up a book - I'm pretty sure it was by Nora Roberts - and from there, I haven't stopped. Before I began writing full time, and my characters started taking up so much of my time, I was reading about 200 books a year. That has dwindled somewhat, but there isn't a day that goes by that I don't read.

An interesting fact... I don't watch television - aside from the occasional news anyway. I will go see a movie or two rarely, but for the most part, I get all of my entertainment from a book. Some of my favorite authors include J.R. Ward, Suzanne Brockmann, Lora Leigh, Jane Rylon, Lori Foster, and Jaci Burton just to name a few.

In the fictional universe of Nicole Edwards, the author creates stories where sexual experimentation is as much a way of life as eating, sleeping and breathing. Her characters engage in illicit and taboo sexual acts with complete abandon, fulfilling their deepest desires and making no apologies for doing so. Going into Braydon, the sixth book in the author's Alluring Indulgence series, I was expecting more of the same. Imagine my surprise when the books' protagonists are instead thrown into an unrelenting emotional maelstrom, forced to face the consequences of recklessly succumbing to their baser instincts. Braydon follows the evolution of the twisted love triangle between the three main protagonists – Braydon, his twin brother, Brendon, and their shared partner, Jessie – as they each attempt to redefine their roles in their unconventional relationship.

Braydon Walker and his twin brother, Brendon, have a history of sharing women, including their most recent love interest, Jessica Prescott. Their previous sexual encounters have always been about seeking physical pleasure and removing emotions from the equation, at least until Jessie came along and Braydon realized the depth of his feelings for her and how those feelings could impact his relationship with Brendon. The author's decision to designate all three of these individuals as narrators only complicates matters, as feelings of confusion, heartache, and despair emanate from multiple directions. While the strong familial connection between the Walker brothers has been integral to the success of the Alluring Indulgence series, Braydon exposes the weakness in Braydon and Brendon's seemingly impenetrable bond.

With its unusual foundation, the would-be relationship between Braydon and Jessie is complex to say the least. They each yearn for the other with a considerable passion but are too afraid to voice their feelings for fear of the repercussions. It's a sweet kind of torture, being privy to their innermost thoughts and knowing what each individual is feeling but having to wait until they are emotionally equipped to confront their true feelings. Messy and complicated entanglements - romantic or otherwise - aside, Braydon is about the title character's journey to becoming his own person - shedding his assumed role as one half of a whole and asserting his own distinct personality.

I am a big fan of Harper Bentley so of course when I heard about Bigger Than the Sky and its irresistible premise, I was chomping at the bit to get my hands on it. Fans of second chance romance and smoking hot alpha males are sure to love this one. Bigger Than the Sky has a little of everything, it is sweet and adorable, charming and amusing, passionate and undeniably steamy.

Kade is a man of few words which makes every one that does come out of his mouth that much more important. He is a sexy ex-SEAL who is deliciously dominant, alpha to the extreme, and is determined to get what he wants. In this case, it seems he wants Amelia back and will not be deterred. His unwavering resolve, his touching gestures, and his surprisingly concise yet moving, succinct yet beautiful sentiments makes you wish for a Kade of your very own and crave a another shot for these two. All this appeal definitely makes you question Amelia's sanity at least a little bit.

Turns out Amelia has her reasons and they happen to be really good ones. She may have been a bit off her rocker for completely walking away from all that is Kade Kelly, but she is a wonderful winsome character that you just can't help but love. She is super cute; rambling when nervous, quirky in her old fashion verbiage, a lovable storyteller with a unique and delightful perspective, sense of humor, and charm. She is also extremely relatable. With everything that has happened to her and the way that she was forced to shut off her emotions to make it through the five years since her wedding day, she has become a little suspicious, a bit pessimistic, pretty untrusting, and sometimes self conscious and insecure. Sure, none of us want to have these feelings or ever have to act on them, but at one time or another they have snuck up on the best of us and this sense of camaraderie makes it very easy to identify with and feel for Amelia and her situation.

Kade and Amelia's reunion is shaky and volatile yet intense and electric from the very start. With Amelia's return to town come old feelings, great memories, and a flood of emotion that once unleashed and combined with Kade's dominance and sex appeal lead to some delightfully sweltering encounters. The perfect balance of romantic love story and steamy bedroom behavior, there is no doubt that these two were meant to be, but only after a few life lessons and not before the right time in their lives.

There was a bit of extra drama that I didn't really feel was necessary right at the end especially since I was still wondering what the heck happened to Peyton and why was she so easily deterred after all, but there was nothing that detracted from the story. These things merely left you with a question or two in the end.

Bigger Than the Sky was a little bit of everything wrapped up in one charming and enjoyable package. It leads nicely right into Kade's brother's intriguing and sure to be painful story. I can't wait to read more about Brody and Piper.
